My name is Jessica Trotter and I am president for the Lander University Habitat for Humanity Chapter. I am currently a senior nursing student here at Lander and am involved with numerous campus organizations along with Habitat for Humanity. This particular organization however is dear to my heart. While Greenwood, SC is where I call home now, I grew up in Pendleton, SC, and it was there that I was first introduced to habitat. After many unfortunate circumstances, it was Habitat for Humanity that gave my mom and myself a home, and habitat that played a role in changing my life. Habitat is so much for than a “Hand-Out” it is a “Hand-up”, and I feel honored to be serving in an organization that gave me so much more than I could ever give myself.
My name is Sonny Nodine and I am a Senior Business Administration major with and emphasis in Management and Marketing. I am currently involved on campus by being a Head Resident Assistant of an on campus housing area, Presidential Ambassador, and Bearcat Nation president. My current role Habitat for Humanity is being the treasurer. The main reason I wanted to be a part of Habitat for Humanity here at Lander is because I wanted to give back to the Greenwood community as a Lander student.
My name is Laura Brown and I am the secretary and historian for Lander’s Habitat for Humanity. I am currently a member of the Presidential Ambassador Program, Blue Key National Honor Society, and BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry). I am beyond excited to be a part of the Charter Chapter of Habitat for Humanity at Lander! I believe that as college students we have the ability to make a tremendous impact on the community around us. I am passionate about Habitat’s mission, “Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” As a group we build more than just homes! With love, we brighten the lives of others and build a stronger community. I can’t wait to look back at Lander’s Habitat for Humanity years down the road and see how our Charter Chapter’s ripple has affected the Greenwood community.
My name is Anna Valentine and I am a senior accounting major from Williston, SC. I am the building coordinator for Lander’s on campus build. I was really excited when I heard LU was going to be starting a Habitat chapter and knew I wanted to get involved. I've done a lot of work with similar organizations over the past few years and developed a passion for construction and non-profit work. I am considering pursuing a career in something in this field when I graduate.
